We make our delicious hot cocoa from the same premium single origin beans we use to make our chocolate, so each variety has it's own unique flavor profile!  This Asochivite hot cocoa has a light taste reminiscent of the cacao fruit from which it's made.

We're one of only a few chocolate makers who press their own cocoa butter.  One of the many benefits of this time consuming process is that we're able to make this rich, incredibly flavorful hot cocoa mix from scratch right here in our kitchen.

Most hot cocoa is alkalized, which means it's washed with a solution of potassium carbonate.  This allows the cocoa powder to dissolve in milk or water more easily, but significantly alters the flavor.  Alkalizing also removes a significant amount of the natural flavanols, which are compounds that play a significant role in the beneficial effects of eating cacao.

Our cocoa is NOT alkalized.  You may need to stir a your hot cocoa a bit more vigorously but you'll taste the unique flavor of the beans, and get the full benefit of cacao's flavanols!

Love it!

I ordered this Asochivite and the Almendra one last month and it came earlier than what I expected. The Asochivite is by far my favorite between the two, it’s more nuttier and it has more chocolate smell that I like. I will be back to order again next time. Thanks!

Delicious dark cocoa

This is my second taste of Goodnow Farms hot chocolate, and my favorite so far. A nice, creamy and perfectly balanced sip ... semi-sweet almost fruity start that ends with a dark-chocolate-esque (bitter but not really yet seems so due to the sweet start) taste that lingers. I used a 1/2c milk to 1T powder ratio, whipped with a whisk to create a nice airy foam. Will need to order more as I know my packet won’t last long!
